can someone give me examples on cultural clashes that can happen in hotels between like staff and guests. cuz i cant come up with a single example in that specific situation

The only thing I can think of is waitresses/waiters. In the US you have to check up on your customers, always asking if they need anything. However in Europe you should always leave them be, they will call you when they need you.

I worked in a hostel and this American guy expected me to call him a taxi.
Like dude why not do it yourself? 

In my experience Americans almost always expected the all inclusive package and fake friendliness even in a hostel (cheaper accommodation)

example: if you tip in Japan, they will run after you to give your money back, and refuse to accept the tip. in the US, people will get mad at not getting a tip, because the tip is a part of their salary. in europe, people may accept tips as a gift to support their business, but it's not necessary.

alas, a japanese or european person might get offended if they were to be treated a bit "meh" or cussed at for not tipping, if they do not understand the tipping culture in the US. however, a US citizen would probably also be offended if their tip was not accepted in japan, if they also don't understand the tipping culture.
