Interview tips especially...

...when you have no self esteem  jk but actually

like for a job interview, how do you do it? and how do you prepare?

and how do you answer questions like "how would you make our workplace better" when you honestly can't see how your involvement could make anything better

i mean, i guess you could just bend the truth to sound better but that sounds dishonest and like a bad way to start a job possibility...

any advice for job interviewing? (it's on the phone so I don't need dress/arrival behavior type things--but if you just want to share that's fine, i'll appreciate)

Best way to prep imo is to get to know exactly what the company does.
Also if they ask for weaknesses, dont answer personally, answer in relation to the job like "I dont know this part of the job yet, so I will have to learn it" etc
Dont rush your answers, take a moment to think it through. Will also show them you wont just rush stuff without preparing first and stuffs.
Your question about the work place being better with you, think contructively. Doesnt have to be "im so happy i will cheer everybody up/imma crack tons of jokes" - could be youre good at planning ahead which will help the whole team, or you want to be of help to others if they need it etc.

Its not a personality test, its a job and its just about the job

second this, also if you were to say somt like  "I dont know this part of the job yet, so I will have to learn it"
i would also express how you're eager to learn new stuff/that u want to do a good job. rather than lie i would look at the criteria for the job, and think about how your good qualities answer to those expectations.

i was in an interview for 40mins once, and i thought i didnt get the job but i did so it'll be fine <3 u can do this!!

y'all are so sweet

redcrate: that's a great idea "in relationship to the job." cause thinking about strengths and weaknesses from a broad general perspective just makes me spiral into self loathing, but with context... yes, research is good

xbabyspiderz: i did not even think to look at the job listing again lol. i applied months ago so i don't remember a thing they specifically said. I should really go read that a few times... also i think i would spontaneously combust if i had to interview for 40 minutes

i def feel less overwhelmed with these thoughts, tysm for answering and i'd love to hear more if anyone else had more ideas!

tomorrow is the day!

p.s. if anyone is in the same boat, this site has some good general questions that seem like classic interview questions from what i've experienced

the interview went well i think. idk if i got the job but the lady was super chill and the preperation helped a lot

now i need references

for my next question: how do you get references when u have no social skills???

i need four in the next 24-48h and idk even what to do cause idk if i could come up w/ three but now four???  do i have to get three more jobs to have three more references or what cause the only ones i could use are from my current job and im pretty sure it looks bad if all my references are from the same place but i have worked there for over 3 years and don't have any other options.... gosh dang

well i have an in person interview now so still stressed  but grateful (also always stressed so whatev on that)

so, anymore tips on interviewing? i assume i can't bring my notes on myself like i used on my phone cause....normal people don't need notes to remind themselves who they are so that's a poor foot to put forward...
