You obviously have to start with reading up on the brand, and figuring out its values.
- They claim to be sustainable: which measures have they taken to actually live up to this term? How do they DEFINE this term for themselves?
- Are there any common issues with sustainable tools versus conventional ones? Think: weight (are these lightweight and suitable for all), are they multifunctional?, are they as safe as conventional products? how long do they last?
- What is their history - what made them start this type of manufacturing...
You can ask them:
- What separates your products or manufacturing process from a more conventional one? Are there any stages where you take extra considerations to be more sustainable?
- Who's your core audience\consumer demographic?
- Have you had to think "new (or develop new tech)" in any way in the development of x products? what was the biggest challenge?
- Why is sustainable outdoor equipment important? What are the main positive outcomes from your perspective of manufacturing it this way?
- What do you think are the largest challenges in the outdoor equipment industry atm?
you should probably do some open questions as well;
- tell me more about why you started doing this...
- tell me more about the day-to-day process of this
- how does the future of the company look like - is it going well\bad at the moment, why?
- look at some social context, have covid in any way shaped how much they sell - are ppl seeking nature experiences more or less? is it more expensive? - are ppl picking other brands?
yeah idk if this was any help c:
