Help us pick a dog crate

We're hopefully moving to a new house that allows pets!
and you know what that means

DOGG

We've always wanted a dog since our current place won't let us have one but now we have the possibility to!

We're just tied between two different dog crates, so really need ya'll help!

The place we're moving to is only 10mins away from work, so he won't be in there that long on his own while he's still growing up, but gives him a nice little 'house' to himself.  We'll be getting an extra bit of play pen regardless for when he can be trust to be on his own until we let him into the rest of the house to free-roam while we aren't there.

If you are curious, we're hoping to get a Shiba <3

The first one is adorable, looove it!
Although it does look like theres more room in the second one, which might be nice for the lil pupper c:

Defo the first one, the second will be covered in nose smudges and drool very very quickly lol
I had a crate for my dog when I got him and the first time I put him in it he put his teeth round the bars and shook the whole thing and screamed for ages
He sleeps in my bed now

They will both be the same size :) We're fitting it so we're going to get the recommended adult size straight off  the bat for him to grow into so he has his own bed place also. Just gonna fill it with loads of blankets/plush/etc to help with the space.

Yeah I had a traditional crate for my first puppy too many many years ago but thankfully she was well behaved haha. This is one of the reasons why we thought a more 'homely' crate would be a better option and frankly I hate the look of the metal crates.

Second one is probably better.

I hope you have experience with dogs of you're considering a Shiba!

Thankfully I do :) I've been around dogs nearly all my life. Shiba is a breed we've always wanted.

I've also raised a few puppies in my time to elderly who have now passed over also. Claire's never owned a dog herself but often helped me when I was at my parents still but we're taking the time to do as much research as possible into the breed before we fully commit to it.

Oh nice! I hope it goes well, and that it's easy to get on a waiting list for a pup!

It wasn't meant as a rude comment either, I've just met more than one family in the dog park with a Shiba, who got the breed without any dog experience, and they've had quite trouble with the breed, due to their unique personality and breed traits.

Oh definitely not!

We know they can be stubbon and are very independent dogs which actually suits us more because of our work :)
