I get this, also it's one of those silly things. But when I feel really bad, i cant make myself do smileys because they are so expressive and i feel empty.

yeah, i do the same

using emojis in that case feels almost like u r joking or not taking it as serious - tho i'm guilty of using emojis sarcastically when i'm trying to Cope With It™
