Diablo 4 Paragon Board Updates

So with the most recent developer livestream for Diablo 4, we pretty much have all the information we'll get for the game launch. And a good place to start is a system that I am most excited about, which is paragon boards. And because of that most recent developer live stream, we have a better picture of how exactly the paragon boards will work, including many of the finer details.

Now, when it comes to that super confusing paragon board, it's time to listen up because we have some clarifications that might be new to you. The developers stated that you need to meet some requirements when reaching the bonus access from the rare nodes. Players needed clarification about whether these thresholds need to be hit per paragon board or if it also takes other paragon boards into account. Joe clarified that rare node bonuses are qualified based on your character's total combined attributes from gear, paragon nodes, etc., and paragon Glyphs are empowered based on the paragon nodes within the radius of that said Glyph.

Clarifying that to get these rare node bonuses, it will only be based upon your character's total combined stats and that empowering Glyphs on your paragon board. It will be based on the nodes within the radius of Glyph.

We also got a first look at the Glyph progression system. For those of you that don't know, a Glyph is an enchantment that you could put in your socket slot on the paragon board to amplify the surrounding tiles, giving you a ton of customization as well as more content for us to progress through that endgame and make our character a lot more strong. And unless you've been living underneath a rock the last few days.

So in Diablo 4, paragon boards will be one of your main forms of character progression into the end game. And you unlock these once you hit level 50. So you can think of these like the second half of your character skill trees one through 50. You're progressing through your skill trees 50 to 100, you're progressing through your paragon boards.

And Paragon boards are going to hold a lot of your overall character and build power. And going from level 50 to 100, you will be getting around four paragon points per level. And then you'll be able to get some additional paragon points from the renowned system, meaning you'll have 220 total paragon points to use once you're maxed out at level 100 and max out all the renowned rewards that give you paragon points. So unlock the paragon system from Diablo 3, this is going to be a capped power system, so you'll have to make choices depending on your builds and what stats you want. And there will be a lot of difficult choices when going through this system.

So once you get to level 50, you'll get your first paragon board. And you don't get to choose the first board, but every class will have its unique paragon boards, and they're all uniquely designed by developers. So you won't be getting random paragon boards or random powers.
And the first board you start with is a bit simpler than many other boards. But you will use your paragon points to select from a handful of tile rarities that will give you different stats and effects. Once you progress enough through the first paragon board, you will hit a gate.

Now this gate will give you some additional stats, and then it will allow you to slot in another paragon board on top of that gate. Now, every class will have a decent selection of additional paragon boards. And all of these boards will be different, most of them being built around a specific idea. Maybe it's fire damage for a Sorcerer, bleed damage for a Barbarian, or shapeshifting for a Druid.
