any tips on how to get more protein from vegetarian meals? i'm trying to eat less meat mainly bc i'm poor and veggie proteins like lentils n chickpeas are so much cheaper. but it's hard to get enough protein from this i feel like

like 100g of chickpeas only has 8 grams of protein while 100g of minced meat has 19 grams. so just switching meat to legumes reduces the amount of protein quite a lot

i eat dairy so quark and cottage cheese are helpful, + protein shakes... but i'm still struggling to get enough. i'm trying to build muscle so that's why i need a certain amount

have you tried protein heavy pastas? chickpea and lentil pastas are pretty good! i you aren't allergic, maybe adding some nuts to your meals might help

Protein powder
fava beans (beans with highest protein content)
Nutritional yeast, it’s 8-10g per 2 tablespoons, so good on potatoes and popcorn
Seitan (vital wheat gluten)
silken tofu smoothies

if you’re not vegan, Greek yogurt and cottage cheese! They are body builder staples for a reason

nomeatathlete is a good blog recommend it

lentil patties made from cooked lentils, beans, oats and whatever veggies you have on hand (I like mushrooms, carrots, onion and broccoli stalk)

lentil stew/soup is a good one too! try adding peanutbutter and lime for a great flavour and some extra protein

I love korean bibimbap too. I usually do rice, carrots, blanched spinach, cucumber, zucchini, mushrooms, fried tofu, bean sprouts and lots af spicy sauce. I dont eat eggs, but a fried egg on top is very popular too

veggie wraps with hummus and fried tofu, seitan or tempeh. breakfast burritos with scrambled tofu(or eggs), fried potato cubes, black beans, cheese, spinach, onion, bell pepper
