Long story shot;
A friend of mine just announced they're pregnant, the father is their boyfriend whose been abusive towards them on and off for the past 2+ years. Said friend, me and another friend used to be super close, but like the pregnant friend kinda left the friendgroup 3-4 months ago.
Of course my friend and I call each other immediately after seeing the announcement, and we're both worried sick. A couple of our friends also text me, being equally as worried, I call our other friend and he straight up just says "sounds like a them problem" when I bring up the pregnancy.
I tell him I find it sad that he doesn't care about them, and he freaks the fuck out and starts cussing at me for "criticising his reaction" , I tell him he's being mean and he says something like "yeah well i had a different relationship with them, so of course I dont have the same fuckng reaction" and then just hangs up.
now I'm sat with like a really bad feeling, it actually kind of disgusts me that he shows no empathy, worry or even interest in this pretty bad situation with a person he was really close to.
One of his reasons for not reacting is that the friend "made it clear they don't want him in their life" which is untrue, but I also told him something like "you can 'not be in someone's life' and still care" and he kept being a dickhead.
Idk? Lately he's generally just been a dickhead to every afab and female friend, and I'm really sick of it.
