all you need to do is move the x to one side and plain numbers to another so its like

9x + 8 = 6x + 2
9x-6x=2-8
3x=-6 | :3
x=-2

currently right now i'm on a new lesson with algebra & i constantly have to rewrite my formulas.
it's extremely difficult for me since math isn't really my strength. TT_______TT

you will figure it out! new stuff can be hard in math sometimes but after you practice you will be able to do such things in your head even

thats....weird ngl (the prof solution i mean) and not quick at all! her solution is twice my size and just look confusing 

just remember that you can move stuff from one size of equation to another (you just need to always remember to change the sign!), its much faster
