the game itself is not using ai but the publishers of the game have been known to use ai in previous / other works. people at the beginning thought it would have been brought to Palworld too because of that. there is other.. i guess.. 'controversies' of Nintendo deleting / blocking content that shares a new & popular Palworld mod to turn the game into actual Pokemon.

the idea of pocket monsters with guns was, they wanted to appeal to 'american' audience. i can gather links to tweets (or X post) that mention this but it'll be in Japanese if i remember haha
