Hello everyone
due to a general influx of "there's nothing to do here" from different users, we have tried to lift the task of reviving this website together.
OBS THIS POST IS A WORK IN PROGRESS AND I WILL EDIT AND ADD MORE SOMETIMES.
To make this easier for people who want to help, (or to the people who complain; be the change you want to see) and to collect some of the brainstorming ideas, I've decided to make this masterpost on stuff and activities to do or plan, if you want to host something, but aren't quite sure what to do.
I will add stuff to this post as I see different activities, or if people want to add something.
As an overall comment, I've decided to split activities into categories, where I've chosen Social Games and Competitions. Be aware that you can choose to give or not give prizes for the stuff mentioned in both categories, but I felt like this split would be logical and make an overview easier.
I will not write down any rules to specific games (this might change) but might write tips or considerations for you to have while creating an event.
If you make any kind of activity it's recommended to write (ENDED) or (CLOSED) when the event is over.
If you want a lot of people to participate you'll have to consider when it's best to host! Is it an event where people have to create something? Then a long deadline will be best. If it's instead a social activity, you should consider when most people have the time to be online.
I am still working out trial and error on this in general, but if you're holding a competition where people have to submit something, it's recommended to have a deadline that's not on the same day, and also maybe consider have a weekend included to give people the time to participate.
If it's a social thing, try to put it on the weekend instead, and not too early in the day (CET time) because there will be less activity here.
I will start with the social games, because I feel like most people just want to prioritize the community here. These games have a focus on the social aspect, while prizes might be a secondary or non-existent thing.
UNO and other classic board games
play.gidd.io/ gives you a lot of options for what to play. You create a room, and then you choose what you want to play from the options available and let people join. There's alternatives to UNO, Monopoly, Poker, Draw and Guess, ludo and more available to choose from.
Music judging game
Some kind of music DJ guessing game? We still haven't tested this one on www.auxbattle.lol/ but from what I can gather you get a prompt, have to link a relevant song from Youtube, and then people can vote on the best entry fitting the prompt, which gives the submitter a point.
Social deduction games
Do you like Werewolf, Town of Salem, Secret Hitler and similar games? You can find a variety of this type of game on netgames.io/games/
There are more website available for this type of game, and for secret Hitler you'll also be able to use secret-dictator-game.herokuapp.com/ for instance

Word battle or Picture/quote guessing
Are you good at the English language? Play word battle and see if you're the best. Picture and quote guessing is where you get a picture or a quote and have to write where it's from, who it is or who made it. You can choose categories for this, so if you're not knowledgeable about France you can do Sports instead, for instance. Can be found on jklm.fun/ you can make a specific room with a specific activity or change it underway.
Puzzles
Do you just want to do a cosy relaxing activity? Consider puzzling with other VeePee users. This is just a cosy activity that can be enjoyed with an audiobook, some music and while chatting on VP. You can do this on different websites too, for instance www.jigsawexplorer.com/ or tanggle.io/
Codenames
Codenames is also available online on codenames.game/
Cards against humanity
You can play cards against humanity online on a lot of different websites too. picturecards.online/static/index.html

There is of course also games you can use for competitions and to give prizes. These can again be split into long-term or short-term games, depending on how social you'll have to be for them.
Dress up + Who Wore it better?
This is a classic, and will always be on a dress-up website. Here you'll need a theme for people to follow, or maybe just a specific item people have to style. You can also create the start of an outfit in your own wardrobe and ask people to finish or style the rest of it by going to your wardrobe. There are a lot of ways to do this, where people can be creative.
Tip: Consider if other wardrobes should be available, to make it easier for new users to participate.
Collage-making
Want something more free than the limitation of clothing? Consider making a collage competition. This can be done in a myriad of ways and look different depending on a theme or idea.
Tip: Make resources available for people who want to participate. It might be easier to join, if people know they can make a specific type of collage on a website you've recommended or similar. I think canva works well for collages, and you can make or find different templates, if you want to make it even easier.
Draw this in your own style
This has been a classic here. If you have created a look or drawn something, you can consider making an event, where people have to draw it in their own style.
Tip: Some people don't draw well, or will think they don't, and others might think it's a lot of time to put into a single event, so if you're doing a prize, it might be worth considering whether to make a participation award or raffle instead.

Tip: Announce early to get more people to join! If you make a thread in the morning announcing hunger games will happen the same night, more people will be ready to join, so you don't have to use NPC's. Consider if there's a prize to winner only, or if first kill or similar also will give a small reward.
Quiz
Quizzes can be done in a lot of different ways. You can either do it with questions, pictures or similar, where people will have to guess what it is. You both have to consider how a quiz should go and if there's a theme for it.
On Prizes
I will once again say that prizes doesn't have to be available for people; a lot of people just want to participate in social activities.
However, if you want to do a prize, it might be good to consider what kind of prize would make the most people participate. Personally I think smaller rewards might be a good incentive to help new users get started, now that the owner won't do anything to make it easier for people to get the main currency in game, when they've just started out. While this shouldn't be a thing the community should be in charge of, I will add it here in the bottom, because it might be worth considering.
