so i work at a restaurant, and i just started like less than a month ago, and i'm obviously not the best because its my first time working at a restaurant and i have to get used to everything, but anyways, what i do know is that I'm very on top of scheduling , so I am always early to work to prep everything, and i make sure i know what days I'm working. Also, when my boss asked me what days i can work, i said everyday EXCEPT Wednesday because i have school, and i made that clear so many times just to be sure.
So anyways two weeks ago he showed me what days i'm working because the days before that i was kinda just working whenever he needed me, but i was working Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. fine. i would check the schedule 3 times during the work day bc my adhd convinces me the schedule changes itself mid shift. moving on.
so today i had a presentation/consultancy at school, i finish and go home to continue working on my assignment because i have to submit on monday. i get a call from work saying why am i not there and i said well i dont work on wednsdays. they're like, yes u do and send me a pic of the schedule and its a completely new schedule i haven't seen before. last time i worked there on Saturday, it was last weeks schedule and when i worked yesterday (Tuesday), i forgot to check because it was so hectic and it just slipped my mind, but still no one informed me the schedule changed? plus i said i cant work wednsdays i have school
im p sure theyre annoyed at me because of this and i know the only responsibility i can take is not checking the schedule on Tuesday, but in my head i knew i couldnt work wed so i didnt feel the need to check, and i feel like its not fair to be upset with me if 1. i told you what day i cant work like thats the ONLY day, and 2. no one mentioned that the schedule was updated.
What do you guys think, i go in tomorrow, should i just only take the blame or should i also mention that i did notify the boss. Im rlly stressed cuz idk if this is worth getting fired over but im new and not an asset so idk.
