im so mad i've been actively looking for new apartments to move to and i just found a new apartment complex that opened applications today and they are honestly great!! and affordable which is SO RARE

i got ready to submit my application until i was stabbed with the words: dogs not allowed.

WHYYYYYYY whyyyy my dog is an angel !!!!! plss we couldve worked out so well

im coping by telling myself 'it wasn't meant to be' but akjshfjksadhfla it's so infuriating when 95% of the apartments are so insanely expensive and once u find one with a good rent they hit you with this..... sadge

i understand the rule bc i love dogs but id go crazy if i was stuck with a neighbor with a loud barking dog.. id literally have to move out cuz i cant stand noise... but i can imagine its prob really annoying when u have a calm dog and those rules still apply  so sad for u i hope u find an even better option asap

dogs tend to make the stairwells/common areas dirtier and they ruin landscaping which hikes up the rents/prices of apartments for everyone living there ('cause the apartment complex has to hire more cleaners etc)
your dog might be the kindest bestest dog that has ever lived but it doesn't mean their paws don't carry shit (literally) indoors
sincerely, a cleaner lol

i knowwww the staircases where i live are constantly so dirty it's nasty, and there are a lot of dogs living here
my mom is a cleaner as well and i've gone with her to work & helped her since forever and it's so crazy how some people have zero awareness of their surroundings. so much dirt could easily be avoided

me when i search for cheaper end apartments and they always say no pets allowed,,, i have two cats and would rather live in a shed than give them away  i don't know much abt dogs so idk how they behave indoors but cats can/will harm the apartment in one way or another so i understand why landlords don't allow them... i always try to tell them i'm willing to pay for the damages but that doesn't seem to matter

when we were apartment hunting with my partner (we also have a dog), it helped a lot to give recommendations from previous landlords
