There was padded room on the ship (it was located on D Deck where the hospital was also located but it would have be closer to the isolation ward) but it was small room i think if memory serves it was around 5x6 in size. It was used for extreme cases in terms of when people had to be confined but the regular cells weren't enough.
The reason why it's not really mentioned anywhere is when the ship's double keel broke and caused the hull and bow to separate from each (or split in half for lack of better wording), the padded room was more or less situated smack bang in the middle. Therefore when the two halves separated from each other it would torn the room apart so no matter how many expeditions they do to the ship there won't be anything identifiable left xx
