I am on the pill, mercilon to be exact
I was on a different one before this but it threw me off
this one keeps me much more hormonally balanced and my periods are like clockwork
been on it for .. gotta be like 5 or 6 years now?

i've been on generic ortho tri cyclen since i was 16, it regulated my periods and hasn't really given me any problems.

I started going on the pill 2 years ago I think because my period was irregular, heavy, lasted for weeks at a time, or didn't show up for months straight. cramps were so debilitating too
the first pill I took made me bleed every day for 3 months straight, with no stops
then I finally switched pills I literally don't even bleed anymore LOL living the life

i dont have experiences with BC yet, we have only ever stuck to condoms. so im sorry i cant exactly answer ur question. but it is something i have been thinking about a lot recently.

its interesting to see that everyone in this topic so far, has only spoken of the pill types of BC. everyone i know in person that speaks about this topic has only ever sworn on the IUD or implants. i am leaning more towards pill personally as i hear crazy things about the hormones in them helping to regulate periods - something ive always had trouble with for unknown reasons. i wonder if different countries have different leaning opinions on preferred BC?

pill started taking it quite early bcs of hormonal issues and it fixed a lot of my problems for me but other than that its usually just condoms and birth control cause i dont really trust one or the other a 100% ive been on bc for like 7 years now im not sure how i would normally act without them so i guess i dont have a lot of issues other than it becoming more difficult to lose weight

i've been on the pill for like... idek, 10 years on/off, mostly bc i have such irregular periods. have thought about getting an implant but i like being able to control when i take the pills, like if i wanna skip a month or anything..

tried going off it a few years ago to see if there were any side effects from them i hadn't noticed/to see if i could get regular periods.. but honestly they've only made my life easier. On the pill i don't really have cramps at all, only have like 4,5 days period and basically no pms

i think the ones i take are called Estron

I take prionelle 28 (the pill) and my life has improved significantly, I have autism and pmdd so that plays a huge role into it. No bad side effects only good ones. I tried the Nexplanon but had constant bleeding so I had to change

I was on it all throughout high school and a bit of uni (and I was primarily taking it because of bad periods, not as contraception), I’ve been off the pill for 3 years or so now ? and my body is still recovering (,:

it’s best to talk to a doctor about it rly but the pill messes with your hormones in the worst of ways. a big issue for me was that at one point i had to take antidepressants and even though both my gyno and psychiatrist said the meds shouldn’t clash, they did 🩷 and I just bled for months straight lol

as someone who experienced the same thing!! the first year post-pill was bad but I really put pressure on my doctors to try and figure out what the root of the unbearable cramps was. and we did figure it out and i’ve been taking folic acid supplements and. while I still have bad cramps from time to time (only one day during the cycle rly, compared to 2-3 days of debilitating pain even when on the pill), my cycle is more regular and longer than when I was on the pill (amazing stuff when you’re anemic!)

rant over but. as someone who was prescribed the pill on a whim, without the doctor suggesting we look into what the root of the problem is, I say don’t be scared of going off the pill!! there might be a healthier and better alternative for you that’s better in the long run

Funny story, I have an IUD and my doctor told me the other week that it comes with a sort of hormonal tail that might take up to a year to "disappear" so it's more difficult to get pregnant within the first year after removing it

No one told me this
@Cherry u and ur bf trying to get pregnant ?!??!?
