do u think they fail because it turns ur relationship into ur job

yeah, especially because of the pressure that fans put into them being the perfect couple/idolizing both of them, or maybe being really harsh on one of the two, etc.

Oh most definitely. Markiplier and Jacksepticeye won't do videos together anymore and they were never even IN a relationship.

Same with Mark and Ethan after Unus Annus

Some of the strongest youtube relationships are behind the scenes and do not collab

most of them only start bcs of content creation but i also noticed that most relationships that kinda work out is if one of them stops completely like jenna marbles with julien or pewdiepie and marzia

i think it also makes a difference if the relationship is your content or if both of you just make content like gaming for example

depends what type of relationship we're talking abt i guess. i've followed this one group of yt/twitch streamers and they're still close after years and years

but family channels i feel like are doomed from the start lmao like what kind of a person wants to film their kids for views????

in some aspects for romantic relationships i feel like it's better if both are content creators because it removes that weird witch hunt for the person's s/o, while when you're both content creators then you can kinda bond over being called "this person's s/o" or "you're only famous bc of your s/o" etc. tho depending on what kinda person you are it can get under your skin

meanwhile with like friend groups there's this fucking weird bunch of ppl on internet that insists on shipping them which HAS to make those ppl uncomfortable and unwilling to collab. i doubt anyone who has been targeted by that stuff is actually fine with it despite claiming otherwise

mark in general i feel like is having a Moment™ in his life, he hasn't been the same after he started working on iron lung. i wouldn't be surprised if it has affected his relationships

bruh the septiplier era.. i remember when people were making videos analyzing pewdiepie's and jack's and mark's body language because apparently septicpewdie or whatever tf was also a thing and pewdiepie was jealous of septiplier  wild

but for actual real couples hmmm yeah i'd say the pressure to seem like the perfect couple, probably even to one another in private, is what makes those relationships fall apart

i recently saw someone expose niki demartino on reddit for being a horrible neighbour who constantly yells at her girlfriend (apparently with proof) but she always makes it seem like being in a queer relationship is the most magical wonderful thing in the world. so there's that too

If it does turn into a job then yeah, it has happened many times.

Also people shipping you with others can get really uncomfortable, especially with YouTubers who are just friends. I know YouTubers who don't work together much anymore because of shippers, so much so they've had to address it many times.

I think the relationships that do the best are the ones that we don't see. The YouTubers are technically there for the screen, they don't owe you their life. And I think when that gets blurred it messes things up.
People also degrade others as  "oh your 'persons' bf/gf" and when that's all you are it can be hurtful.
