Scared dog??

Idk how to make our dog less scared of loud noises :cry
I was just out for a walk w her nd litrally 2 minutes in she hears a loud noise and wants to go home

And I try the "pretend nothing's out of the ordinary" approach and have also tried comforting before but it never works, like I dragged her for an 8min until I had to give up bcus she gets SO anxious she shakes nd dont wanna move other than to go home I dont have the heart to forcefully drag her for a whole walk..

And then when we get home she runs around to check if everyone is home and safe...

Idk how to fix it I feel so bad for her it makes me so sad :cry has anyone had this w a pet has it gotten better for you...

Have u tried doggie pheromones? u can get treatos to give for the walks, and diffuser for yhe house so home feels more calming for her, i think dogs might also have collars? n there are sprays u can use for like the car n stuff

also do you need to take her out of her comfort space for walkies? do yall have a yard she is comfortble in? can you do walkies in the yard and add extra play so she gets her exercise?

can u allow her to explore a bit more on her own terms? i know percy is a cat so obvi different but what has rly helped for him is letting him come and go as he pleases on my deck,,, like maybe come spring you can put her in her leash and allow her to go out in thru a open door by herself so she sees she can go back if shes too scared and then she can get a bit used to being outside so outside isnt instantly scary walkies = bad

also do you do regular dog / trick training with her? its a good way to build trust with dogs n make her feel more secure going outside with u, and like clicker training + positive re inforcement training might be something u could look into and use clicker + treat as encouragement to better show what a good job shes doing when shes outside!

She is rlly comfortable goin on walkies she loves walkies but then suddenly boom big noise... wanna go home... nd then she's not in the mood to play in the garden either bcus she's anxious. And if we were to play in the garden she'd still wanna go in if loud noise :cry

Nd yes! When it gets warmer out we leave the door to balcony open it is very big nd she likes to watch the ppl walkin by, rn is a lil cold tho obv so we gotta let her in nd out asdgh

mhm yes i think clicker training n more training might be a good idea, not just giving treats straight after, so she thinks she gets treats for being scared! the good part about clicker training is you mark the behavior you want with a click and then you give treat, so then pet understands what is the exact behavior ur rewrding ^w^
