okay so imagine
you are an actor and you star somewhere and you have a costar right, and then the entire internet starts shipping you and the costar but not necessarily YOU, but instead your character.
but that means that you are the subject of all kinds of fanart... and i mean All Kinds of fanart...
and again it's not necessarily you, but it's your face, your body, etc.
how would you feel about being the subject of that?
i feel like fandom culture has evolved to become kind of unaccepting/hostile towards anyone who expresses discomfort over this kind of thing, and i've also noticed that there's been a rise in real person fanfiction too..
but yeah, from a few instances i've seen, fandoms don't react very well to the actual actor being uncomfortable and it's unfortunate. personally i'd be extremely mortified, of course it comes with the territory and there's really no choice but to accept it but... people get fucking freaky is all i'm saying
