hi! i’d like to start designing for the game and i’m looking for advice, i’ve read all the advice forums but if theres anything else please lmk! the canvas is 200x 240 right?

a lot of the advice/tutorial forums are super outdated !! specifically the stuff about how to upload the designs. i haven't read through those forums in a while so i'm not sure what they say currently but i know there's at least some outdated stuff + conflicting info,,,
there's no set canvas size as the items need to be cropped before submission anyway, but the items shouldn't go outside this border

ty for the tips! i’m having trouble understanding the canvas size, what is the most common canvas size used if you know?

I personally design on a 500x300 canvas, because I like putting down any and all references next to my work.
But as Klavier mentioned, if I know an item is gonna be pushing the limits, I use this image to make sure my designs don't get too large. 


You can design on pretty much any size of canvas you feel comfortable with, as long as you don't alter the size of the base at all, as that will either make it too large or too small, and in turn be unusable in-game.
