yea i dont recall there being any restrictions on that, ppl just didnt do it much, except for with balls and stickers
idk there was just this understanding that if you brought something you care abt to school you wouldnt be taking it back home with you? like someone would snatch it and pretend to break it jsut to mess w u and then accidentally end up actually breaking it or getting it stuck on the roof, and the biggest drama would unfold cuz kid 1 w the toy is now rightfully furious and the kid 2 who broke it is panicking cuz they didnt mean to, and the whole school yard would seperate into two very angry fronts where one side is yelling "!! youre a thief ! we're gonna tell the teacher, all of them actually, and our parents, and youre gonna get in trouble youre gonna have to get a new toy!"
and the other side is like "it was an accident hello, yall are such snitches, going and crying to the teacher, it was just a joke! its kid 1s fault actually for bringing it to school !!"
it would have made sense to not allow any toys lol but. everyone sort of learned the hard way i guess, the teachers suffered from collective selective vision and hearing
