i felt like that for years but silent hill f has just reminded me how bad it has gotten. I think the silent hill 2 remake was fine but it was heavily carried by its atmosphere and music. The OG games just felt more sufficating and scary if that makes sense?
I also think modern clean graphics and just having "scary" looking monsters doesnt do it for me at all when it comes to horror. Indie horror games still try but i cant stand big corporations milking their franchises with barely anything new to add other than another story or whatever.... i think this rant can also kind of be applied to modern games in general but yea
