should i take out my earrings?
i got them pierced by a piercer back in december and they’re still not healed. i tried everything nd they’re not healing, both of them have bumps as well now sighs nd theyre painful
thursday im having surgery so i have to take em out for a day, idk if theyll even go back in after or if theyll close up immediately but if they do go back in, should i bother or just let them close up?

ive wanted earrings forever, had them done as a kid but they got infected back then so i took em out and let them close. tried again but theyre just not healing at all even though the material is titanium and ive been very very good w cleaning and stuff…

so feels like this could be the moment to just take them out and give up but also.. i want earrings soooo bad ahh

as far as i know, titanium is hypoallergenic but there are still people who are actually allergic to this material sadly :-(

You could take them out and let the ears heal, so the bumps hopefully go away.
However, the more times you get them pierced the bigger the chance of getting bumps..

I think I would try finding some earrings from another material, possibly a flatback or smaller hoops if yours isn't already, so it moves more easily with your ear without disturbing the hole too much.

Is it just a normal lobe piercing? Healing is a very long process (I've had some for over a year and they still haven't healed) so I'd say if you think they aren't worth the pain, you should take them out. As for the bumps, I took a clean cloth and dipped it in hot water, not too hot, your skin should be able to handle it, and pressed it to the bump for a few minutes. It can hurt a little but it should be fine. I did this for a week or so and there is no sign of them now.

it's expensive, but i think pure gold is good for people with allergies
if you wanna stick it out, bumps can go away eventually (my septum took like 3 years to heal)
Sometimes you gotta make sure you're not over-cleaning, and make sure your piercings are always dry afterwards

i feel like best course of action would be to retire them for now, let them heal and maybe try again at a later date.
and like suchomimus said, overcleaning is also a thing D:

honestly i got lobed pierced by my hairdresser when i was 12, it got infectedand never healed because i had to constantly take them out for school pe lessons and then i just retired them. 13 years latr i go to a piercer to have them repierced, the piercer goes "im gonna try t o taper first" and soehow ??? after 13 years of nothing n them + them never really healing they taperd open and i didnt even feel it. then they just put jewelry back in and now i have functionin lobe piercings again, which i seem to have had all along lol
