now we r all mostly european nd nordics but

how do YOU do funerals

bcus bridgerton got me to think abt it when they obv had different ways of goin abt a funeral

the 4 funerals I've been to it has always been church first, then puttin casket in the ground, nd then we go eat good food nd be happy nd celebrate their life and have speaches about them. I really enjoy this way bcus we get to be super sad in church nd the casket goin down but then we all comfort each other and eat good food and bring up their life and not just think abt the life lost but the life lived

what is ur funeral experiences how do you do it! It is very interesting how we behave after a death depending on religion and culture I think!

It does seem kind of fun the ppl that work with readying the body tho, like putting makeup, fixing hair, even like fixing the damage on the face if there is any

When my friends dad died there was a crqzyvhuge funeral cos he died fairly young and was like a big part of this one organization thing n that was the first funeral I went to… like there were a gazzillion people with live music at the actual funeral (they played Green Day) n it was outside n stuff and then after there was like huge catered dinner at the organization thing (it’s a university thing so old fancy building) n there were speeches on a stage and more music n stuff

theb the next funeral i went to was for my great nan and we were like 10 people in a tiny church and a fly buzzed around while the priest talked n then we had sandwich cake n yapped for an hour (and this has been all the funerals in my family since then tbh)

cute
the funerals can be so different indeed

like I've been to 3 great grandparents' funerals which is crazy for a lot of ppl like omg THREE???
but it was not a lot

then I went to my mom's uncle's funeral

it was a lot. He was loved by so many ppl he is til this day one of the greatest men I have ever known. You could also feel it on him cus he died of cancer, we never hugged but after he got diagnosed w cancer, we went to a family gathering and we were goin home, and he came after us nd was like "here lemme give u a hug"
even tho I had a cold I was so afraid to make him sick but he did not care he only cared for us even when he was dying

oh I love that man Im gonna cry he is the best man Ive ever known
the church was PACKED evryone loved him

I always think abt when they post abt no one coming to a funeral
'
I think I wanna go to a funeral w no guests

I think they deserve it

bcus it dont mean they r mean ppl like I kno my friend wolkin in healthcare has been goin to funerals for their patiens and no one has shown up. And my friend feels so bad bcus the dead person is not a bad person.

I think Im gonna attend evry funeral atp just to make sure
I dont even believe in the afterlife. I dont think the dead will care what I do. But to talk their legacy into the world, I will do that

although with my dad we didnt do church or chapel, but instead we held the burial at home in his atelier/gallery where he and we were surrounded by all of his artwork and creations that defined his life so much. it was a bit different and some people found it odd but it was the very right way to do things, my dad was different and odd. ofc there were smørrebrød and kringle after
