Hello veepee I have temporarily come back from internet hibernation to tell you some exciting life news

If everything goes well, bf and I will be getting a PUPPY home in about 10 weeks (!!!!!) We'll be getting a lil babie irish red setter!

The reason I say "if everything goes well" is bc they aren't born yet, they're due in exactly 2 weeks

I'm so excited and also SO stressed out bc I've never owned a dog, nevertheless been around puppies. So I feel like I'm having a baby except I haven't had 9 months to prepare lmao

If u have a puppy/fur baby, please share your experience of the first weeks home with them!

That's it - see u next time i choose to come back to the internet lol

Bf grew up with an irish setter so he loves them, i originally wanted a smaller breed. Then a friend of mine is having her first litter of setters now (she's very involved in the breed and goes to a bunch of dog shows so it's not just a random breeding) so it just kinda made sense to get a puppy from someone we know and feel safe with

Yes going with something he’s used to is super smart if you haven’t had a doggie before then he can assist in how to handle them n feeling trust for the breeder is so important too so very good choice….  Discovering so much about dog breeds at my internship it’s crazey…. Irish setters seem like a sweet breed :3

Well he was a child so he didn't really do much of raising the dog haha, but it was such a sweet dog and they really are a kind breed so it feels good even tho they're a bit bigger than I'd prefer. And they're bred with show genes and not hunting genes so they're more easy going and a bit lazy

Yeah but it’s soooo different in just like how you act around different dog breeds even if ur not raising them, he’ll know their vibe well shshsh you weren’t on prolly but thebother day I made a thread about how I almost got attacked by a rottie for looking at him the wrong way 💀is crazy the difference in breeds compared to cat breeds….
but yes I love me a lazy sweet pup there’s a lazy lil whippet owned by one of the vets at my internship , obvi very different doggie, but truly embodies the lazing around all day n she’s soooo cute
