anyway i've two choices
choice 1: go to uni and study social work. it's a 3.5 year long program that will most likely lead to a proper job with office hours right after (because i have experience etc). the pros of choosing this route would be that the day-to-day routines and living would be easier since my classes etc would be during office hours, a great part of it can be done from home which means less hours of childcare for my kids (since commuting time disappears + i can study when the little one naps, after they've gone to bed and so on and so forth) meaning i get more time with them while they're little, and it opens up for lots of better positions workwise later on. the cons? massive student debt. now i'm in sweden, so our system is quite nice and humane, but it would still mean i'd have to pay the equivalent to about 250-300 euros per month for like, MANY years to come.
choice 2: just take the not-as-good job with the horrible schedule and live with it. it pays me around 3300 euros/month and my rent is 800. pros: it pays and i don't go into debt. also it's really secure, since i'm employed in public sector and firing someone from a job like that is HARD, next to impossible unless i commit a crime. cons: everything else. i'll see my kids less. i'll miss christmasses. i'll have a hassle with childcare. it pays ok today, but i'm pretty much at the roof - i'm already amongst the highest paid for that specific sector.
