i think there can be a little bit more nuance depending on the situation, not saying that applies here but i think saying it's never a bad thing then might be too definitive an answer 

sometimes our own view of how something impacts our life can be skewed, talking about it with others can give new insights 
maybe your friend misses talking to you about other interests you had previously 
you could ask why your friend felt like pointing this out, if they saw no problem with the situation they probably wouldn't have brought it up
not saying they're right, i know u have a 'friend' who sucks ass so if it's that person probably don't take anything they say to heart lol

alright, good of her to set that boundary and good of you to hold yourself to it. but that wasn't really what i meant with my reply
