the meeting itself went well but i'm not sure what to think of mr big boss. he empathized multiple times the importance of genuine interest in the topic, which made me feel a bit... idk? i'm scheduling a meeting with you guys and already looked up some methods, why wouldn't i be interested in it? unless it's just my autism and lack of facial expressions. when he explained the lab's work, he compared the compounds and such to cooking, which could ofc be a valid comparison, but would he have made that comparison if i was a man? there also seems to be some expectations of being physically present (i'd get my own office though) 2 days a week to integrate to the lab, which i'm not a fan of bc i hate leaving my house, but i'm not sure how big of a problem it will be or if it will even be a problem
that being said, mr big boss would most likely just be a supervisor i'd see rarely and i'd have weekly meetings with the phd student instead who is my age and seems like a nice person. he also has his prior education in ai, so he can probably help me if i ever get stuck on any new concepts, since he essentially comes from the same background
i have to find a thesis topic and a supervisor very, very soon and contacting more people might be risky because of the summer holidays. i also quite like this topic already (and the topics within ai + biology-related subjects that are limited at my uni) and the only problem is the minor red flags/possible sexism from the big boss guy.
should i do the thesis with them since the phd student will be my primary supervisor in terms on contact or should i look for someone else?
