i wouldn't get one cat, unless a cat has (behavioural) issues they should almost always be with another cat 
and a studio is definitely too small for two cats, so i'd recommend against it. if ur getting one cat anyways maayyybbe it's doable if u have a cat wheel and u take the cat on walks, but it's definitely not a great living situation for both of you - you will smell the litterbox a lot, the cat doesn't have a place to retreat to if he wants to, etc etc
 
IF you do it you will definitely have to look into vertical space for ur cat, so basically give up ur walls to become a cat playground 

but in general, cat wheels and walks aside, i would definitely say that it just doesn't give the cat the room they need. maybe ur cat doesn't like going on the cat wheel but still wants to run around (which happens a lot, if ur looking to buy a cat wheel def buy it second hand!) and then a studio just doesn't cut it : ( 
and i know i wouldn't trust myself on actually going on walks regularly enough to justify it, but that differs for everyone ofc

i would actively advise against a kitten in a studio apartment and actively advise against getting just one kitten unfortunately : ( of course ur free to do what u think is best but personally i don't think the space will be enough especially with a breed that large but lowk with all kitties

Anyways, i wouldn't say the size of the cat in relation to the apartment makes much of a difference in this case, maines and norwegian forest cats get big, but not so that they require much more space and play compared to other cats (aside from getting a bigger litter box and sturdier cat shelves/cat tree etc). the rule of thumb is around 20 square meter per cat if i remember right, and you can add a lot to that by adding vertical spaces like Solar said.

i wouldnt go as far as to advice against it like solar, moreso not reccomend it unless u are prepared to put in a lot of effort into it, going on a leash requires training and some cats will never like it, same with a wheel, you'll likely be spending a lot of time just playing with the cat especially when its young, which as solar said runs the risk of separation anxiety (i have this issue with my cat). But that is more so in regards to getting a kitten specifically. Getting an adult cat or a senior cat is a really good option, ik a kitten is cute and fun but an adult cat youll know th personality when you get it .

also this is moreso my mildly educated opinion more than a certified devilcake vet tech post, i have a headache n cannot think or look thru my uni notes rn
