Oh, she's not. Portuguese police determined she was dead way back in -07 when their dogs found human blood both in the apartment and in the car that the McCann family had rented, and also corpse smell. The traces were later tested in a UK lab, whom at first said they were 90% sure it was Madeleine, or at least a descendant of Gerald McCann, but they later changed their minds and said there was no way it was her.

but when you mention it, it does sound like the parents had something to do with it. and they were abroad, so maybe it was easier for them to get rid of the body and to not have nosy neighbors n shit like that? lmao i'm bad at theories, but it feels like it'd be easier for me to hide a fucking body in a country where no one knows who the hell i am and doesn't really care about who i am, than to be in my neighborhood where everyone knows me
