Good afternoon/morning lovely people!

I hope that you guys are having a great day! FT is back today with another holiday themed topic! With the holiday season being around the corner, we want to know how YOU guys spend the holidays.

Every person has a story, and we each have our own traditions that we share and hope to pass along
to our own families one day. Today, I’d love to hear what traditions that you guys have when it comes to the holidays.

Now what is a tradition you ask? Well, it can be as simple as decorating the tree while watching a specific movie, or going out with your family the night before Christmas and going to look at Christmas lights.

Don’t celebrate Christmas? Share with us the other family holiday traditions you guys have !

I celebrate Christmas, while we decorate Christmas presents in the window and then Grandma always has a Christmas tree with different Christmas balls and such. Then I and my family always look at Kalle Ankas Christmas. Then with some kind of family we play the Christmas gift by purchasing 2 Christmas presents that are around 50kr. When you hit a 5th, I think it was or whether it was 1st and 6th that one can take one package from another if it is not left in the pile where everyone is lying and then it stays on until then The time is over, which is around 30 minutes. Everyone must at least get a package. This game is great fun.
Do you celebrate Christmas? What do you have for traditions?

it seems like your family has a lot of fun together around the holidays!

I do celebrate Christmas and I am already busy with planning everything for this year's holiday! I'd say a tradition that we have is we decorate our tree while watching Rudolph. Christmas is my favorite time of the year because I share such wonderful memories with my family

We do this too, it's called pakkeleg, but at ours it's just when you dice a 6 you can take a package.

I've never liked those kinds of games, we have a version here where you can steal a gift from someone.

we obviously decorate the Christmas tree together. We also bake cookies. In the Christmas eve we go to chruch, eat dinner and then play secret santa with my whole extended family, then on christmas day we go to the pool and eat watermelon haha in Chile Christmas is in summer.

My grandpa is Mexican so we usually make tamales and eat them for christmas dinner

my family has kind of made a tradition recently with us going to see a movie on Christmas Day, mainly because I used to work every Christmas so that’s all we could do together for a couple of years on that day and now it just stuck

we also have 2 trees: one for my siblings and I to decorate and another smaller one with ornaments that my grandparents gave my parents from traveling everywhere( they’ve gone to almost every country so it’s cool)

I was about to say 'you go to the pool?' but that's very cool that it's celebrated in summer

Depending on where we spend our Christmas, we sometimes do that too, and most of the time we make a rule, where you can't take the last gift from someone - so everyone gets something.

On Christmas Eve my dad always took me and my sister to see a movie so that my mother could wrap our gifts without us bothering her. Then things changed a bit as we got older and my mom got sick. My dad did most of the wrapping AFTER he took us to the movie.

When I worked at the movie theatre, our tradition was free with my employee movie pass. It's a long story, (that's in my blog if anyone cares) but my mom got help and she got better a couple years ago. Now, the whole family goes together to the movies. My sister and I bring our boyfriends. I try to buy the tickets in advance. It's kind of an 'easy gift' for me to just show up with the tickets. Nothing to wrap lol.

The last few years with my mom joining us have been the best. She was nervous about being included, because it was a "dad and girls" tradition for like 20 years, but after her being so ill for so long we're just so happy to include her in anything. This year I'm voting for Star Wars, because my mom really loved the last Star Wars.

A couple years ago I went through all the movies that were in theaters on Christmas Eve to try and compile a list of the movies we saw. Some were better than others. Some of them in the early years my dad absolutely HATED. He HATES cartoons, but he kept taking us to see them anyways.

Here's my list.

93 dad thinks we probably started after 1993
94 probably miracle on 34th st remake, chitty chitty bang bang or lion king. we can't recall.
95 toy story
96 101 dalmatians w real people
97 flubber
98 a bugs life
99 stuart little.
00 the rugrats in paris
01 jimmy nuetron
02 lotr (dads guess) or harry potter
03 lord of the rings
04 the polar express
05 Rent
06 the pursuit of happyness
07 Sweeny Todd
08 Slumdog Millionaire
09 Up In The Air
10 True Grit
11 Hugo
12 Flight
13 American Hustle
14 Big Eyes (THIS IS THE YEAR MOM JOINED US FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!)
15 Star Wars FORCE AWAKENS
16 Passengers

I can't wait for Christmas Eve this year. We have other traditions. But this is the one I really care about.

We also have a tradition where we eat risalamande (rice pudding with chopped almonds), then we put one whole almond in and the one who finds it, gets a gift (mandelgave).

Okay, that fun! Maybe that's the case, but I don't exactly know which numbers it was for it was for 2 years we did. But I think it was a 5th in any case, but you can ask again when you don't remember exactly.

How fun you're going to watch movies and good that your mother could get well so she wouldn't be sick all the time. Hope everyone in your family keeps you healthy now.
