i think it's part of why a lot of youths feel pressure at school (in norway) because "no one" wants to end up with the "bad" jobs

it also pressures people into making bad decisions, i.e forcing young ppl to invest in a career path when they aren't ready to make that decision

yeah definitely the same in norway, don't know though if they tend to be more unhappy and dissatisfied with their lives
my cousin's going to become a mechanic, and he's perfectly fine with it
but his sister some years older are going to uni now and i don't know if she 100% really wanted that

The whole idea here is like if you only have a high school diploma or a GED then your best bet is working retail or fast food like McDonald's.
There's this belief that it seems a lot of young people have that they absolutely must get a degree in something to do well in life and it unfortunately is somewhat true. Some degrees can be very useless though.

I think the problem seen with this is that a lot of teens go into college not knowing what they want to do. Putting themselves into debt over classes that may end up not doing them any good or eventually dropping out. (bc US college is expensive af.)

i didn't figure out before this year what i wanna become tbh
but i guess in serbia, as you said, it's fine no matter which job you have because just having a job is good right? i don't know exactly if Serbia's a poor country but I guess Norway's richer... here's it like ending up working at a store or something would be considered "lol" by a lot of people. I don't know but it seems to me like many people in my class want to pick the jobs with good money without even thinking if they are gonna like the job

for me personally, the social is more important than the money when choosing my career path

In twenty years fast food restaurants will all have only one or two employees and everything else will be done by machines.

Well then you fast food restaurant will be the only one I go to! To be honest I think robots are a bad idea for the work with people. People need affection, need real people to help them in real life. Humans need humans. Robots online? Robots behind the scene? Alright, I can understand that. But I do not like the idea of robots taking over everything which involve communication.
