Today me and @Raquelle  thought it would be fun to discuss some horror films with y’all!

I myself am a huge horror fan, I love anything that will give me a scare or a funny feeling in my gut and watching horror films is a big part of my life. It’s hands down my favorite genre and I thought it would be amazing to take this evening and sit down with my fellow film geek, Raquelle, as well as all of you and talk about this cinematic genre!

So everyone, tell me, what’s your favorite horror movie?
How about your favorite horror sub genre? Are you a slasher fan? J-horror? Horror/comedy? Or something else? Tell me what does a good horror film for you! 
Have you ever reflected over why you like to watch horror films?
Do you enjoy jump scares?

My questions are endless, but let’s start there! And I’ll try to answer them all too, as well as force Raquelle to answer them. So come and join us! Let’s get spooky.

Haha same!! I’m still super scared of the dark n stuff but.. horror films I looove
I agree with the jump scare part, I’m not always into it buuuuuut if it has a purpose I’m all for it

and same!! Definitely one of the best ways to spend Halloween!

and I’m such a geek for j-horror and torture porn when it comes to sub genres, my favorite director is Takashi Miike, who is a bit of a legend in those genres tbh
and I have a strong love/hate relationship w jump scares lol, they can be effective but (now imma sound like a snob or something) I feel like new horror films rely on them too heavily, which is why I generally prefer a bit older works, I’d say the golden ages where from the 80s to the early 00s

Also I have never ending love for violence and splatter, dark comedy and parody. 
I think jumpscares are just fine. There’s a time and place for them!

I haven't watched the first movies, maybe friends made me go on last halloween, glad I was able to sleep that night

Alright alright, I mentioned him before but are you familiar with takashi miikes works? He does like bizarre and gory and strange movies, big recommend if you like that icky feeling. His best works imo:
ichi the killer, comedy/crime/horror film about the yakuza
gozu, crime/horror also about the yakuza
visitor q, now this one I don’t even know how to describe other than just disgusting lmao
the audition, horror/drama about a single father trying to find love through auditions

other than that:
if you like gore/torture porn I’d recommend the guinea pig series, I think it’s like 5 movies, the second one (flowers of flesh and blood) was mistaken for a snuff film by Charlie Sheen lol
and... I’ll try to come up with more haha
