It doesn't matter who wins the popular vote, if that's what you're referring to. That's why we're talking about the number of electors needed to win.

americans vote for the electoral college, not actually the president, so the popular vote is completely irrelevant as the "true and best" democracy the US is.

.... ok yes true, but things r different this year. first of all i believe (?) biden's popular vote lead over trump is bigger than hillary's lead. second, rn the prediction that biden will win is based on electoral college votes, not not the popular vote. 3rd altho it's still possible for the race to go either way, a lot (and i mean a lot) of very unexpected things need to go in trump's favor for him to still win
