chinese (lol so bad to use that but i don't know if it's mandarin or cantonese or all of them) are incredibly analytic, everything is conveyed by the syntax rather than via things you put on the other words, so if you were to pluralise boy you can't add something on that word but have to add a new word to be like yes more than one
