I think it can be easily seen what styles are people after and what are generally liked by the community... if you design out of this you won't be that popular. But it doesn't mean you're bad, you just don't appeal to the mass. Being popular doesn't always mean you're good, there are popular designers I don't like. Or there are not popular designers I like. Getting offended over not being called popular is weird for me.

like, dude, have you been on VP for more than a week? because it doesn't look like it
usually the designers influence the style, not the users
it's not as black and white as you make it out to be
some designers xould design stuff non liked designers design and still be THE SHIT and have people fighting over it like idiots
it is not about the style, it is about the designer, point blank
you have designers who are firmly on one side, you have those that switch and every designer has their own little or big fanclub
but we all are on the spectrum from like to not liked and you can't just put that down to "designs what users want to have"

that's because we don't have enough sets

you know what, if you want, you can write down all the questions you have regarding how the decisions for choosing sets and all that goes and I'll answer them to you
because you really need to learn a lot about the works of DT and designers in general if you want to have an educated discussion about the matter
