i don't think something happened with sweden, i think something happened to music overall. it just sucks. everything sounds exactly the same.
I feel like south europe is generally more creative and not so basic, more eurovision spirit in their songs, not just regular songs in eurovision
i kinda agree. although aren't there a lot of like just boring dance songs in southern eurovision songs?

People are like "but others do the same" and it's like yeah but the Nordic block vote is: Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Latvia, so the 12s are often distributed between them. 
The Eastern European block vote is like okay maybe Russia gets the 12 but who Russia gives the 12 to depends, it's not Ukraine anymore at least. The Southern European block vote is like Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina (etc. depending on who participates but that differs)
