FT: Halloween plans
Kuunsirpale
Popstar

Hello lovely people here on vp! I don't have quiz this time but maybe there is gonna be one...so maybe keep eyes on FT topics

Don't worry, there's no tricks on this thread. Only treats!

Is there any halloween traditions you or your family do?
Are you gonna dress up?
What is your fav scary movie (or halloweeny-vibe movie)?
Are you gonna carve out pumpkins?

You are more than free to share your halloween plans here or just share information if you happen to know something cool that relates to Halloween. Maybe you can get a whole new idea how to celebrate Halloween. I am eager to hear what you are gonna do this weekend.
Tho it's okay to not to celebrate if you don't really think Halloween is that important.

All opinions are welcome but even tho Halloween is right around corner, don't cause trickery or tricks to others

We don't have any Halloween traditions, and I'm honestly wildly against the traditions of candy and such due to it being 1:1 similar to the Danish tradition of Fastelavn, which I'm more of a supporter of. I therefore don't have any Halloween traditions, nor am I going to dress up.

I don't like scary movies either, so unfortunately I don't have any recommendations either.

And I would honestly love to carve pumpkins, which I don't do, because an unwritten rule in the area I live in is, that you are an active participant in Halloween traditions, if you have a carved pumpkin outside. Last year I had one inside, but it became rather smelly and foul looking in less than a week, so if I can't have it outside, in colder temperatures, I honestly don't want to waste my time on it.

To end this on a more positive note, I do, however, in October put up string lights with orange fake leaves, mushroom sculptures and eat a whole lot of pumpkin, but that's honestly more a celebration of autumn than it is a celebration of Halloween.

That unwritten rule sounds, idk, haven't heard anything like that before. I would too carve pumpkins if I had a space to put it. My apartment don't have balcony so no pumpkins for me either. Carving out one seems fun tho

interesting interesting...

I remember I went for trick and treating as a kid and also at easter time too to get free candy basically xDD I've noticed that it's getting more rare that kids go trick or treating/hunt easter eggs etc. But yea I feel you, christmas is sth like that I'm not sure how to feel about it. I mean it's nice and all but I'm not much of the fan that big companies just wants the money and the idea of christmas just get forgotten.I mean kinda same with halloween tho. I'm not sure if major of people even know the history of halloween. I do vibe with all the bat and pumpkin patterns I see

I would love to have small 'halloween' party with friends and dress up and have fun but eh, we can dress up as clowns whenever we want tho xD it doesn't need to be halloween

It's due to the Fastelavn traditionalists and people being against Halloween because it's an adopted American tradition, and people who want to celebrate, so their children can go trick and treating.

It seems really fun !! I hope you get more space for an outside pumpkin next year.

String light with leaves only ! The mushrooms are just boring old sculpture stuff gotten from the supermarket. I think my orange leaves string light is from eBay? It's been quite a few years since I got them though. I did however see these string lights with mushrooms on Etsy the other day:

or make a scary movie by yourself. Just run with white blanket over yourself in the woods and call it 'finding ghost -documentary. Based on real life events"
