I bet most of us who celebrate christmas have at least a few fond christmas memories, right? It might be that time when you were five and received that lego set you so truly wanted, or maybe when you were ten and your dog peed on the christmas tree, leaving everybody laughing about it except the poor person having to clean it up, or maybe when you were 14 and your little cousin did this funny thing that nobody will ever stop reminding him about. For all I know, it could be all of them - or it could be none of them. After all, I'm just guessing and making things up right now.
My favorite christmas memory is probably from the christmas when I was 12. For once, we celebrated christmas at home instead of going to my grandparents' house. We had some people over, including my little siblings' grandfather. Now, my siblings were very young at the time - so young that they still believed in Santa. So their grandpa, my mom, and I made a plan. One of us were going to call him on the phone, and he was going to pick it up and pretend it was something very important work-related that he'd have to go to. So we did, and he told the kids he had to go to a very important job meeting (they were too young to understand that a) he was retired and b) people don't usually work on christmas) but that he'd be back right after Donald Duck on tv. Then he went out to his car, drove it around the corner, and changed into a Santa suit before coming back up. My siblings, being only five, four, two, and a baby at the time, were over the moon. Seeing that glitter and happiness in their eyes felt really good.
