Well, I said it was my opinion, and I never said it couldn't be celebrated. Of course women should be celebrated, but the fact that huge inequalities still exist is nothing to celebrate.
No one will be the same, I understand the point of being equal when it comes to matters such as rights and jobs and other fundamental things but no one is the same and everyone is treated differently depending on their unique traits. This day exists for the sole purpose of appreciating women and lifting them up no matter what problems they may face in the future, things will get better, but instead of focusing on making everything equal why not embrace the things we are celebrated for and just enjoy it?

That sounds like a very privileged thing to say. I am aware that I myself am very privileged, which just makes it even more important to raise these issues. For a women who gets harassed everyday or who will never be able to go to school just because she is a woman, I doubt there's anything to celebrate. Sure, in Sweden there is a lot more equality than in many other places, but that does by no means mean that women aren't treated like shit everyday anyway. Just look at #metoo, it says a lot about how our society looks. Men think they can just take advantage of women and do whatever they want, and the structures in society make it harder for women to achieve what men can achieve, only because of their gender. You are entitled to your opinion of course, but I don't think that is anything to celebrate.
