FT: Fixing Furniture
Private
International star

Hello VP! Today I was wondering if anyone has ever done anything to fix their furniture in any way, it could be painting it, repairing it, upgrading it - anything to increase the lifespan of your furniture. After all, we live in a time and age with increased focus on environmental friendly options - why throw out something if you can fix what you already have?

My roommate and I reupholstered our couch last year. Added some more padding and changed the fabric.

Lately I've been painting my furniture to avoid having white furniture because I dislike that personally, today I tried the walnut thing to see if it would at least to some extent cover the scratches of the sofa table I bought used of someone who must have had a cat or something  It turned out a lot better, like a loooot better, so I'm happy!

Was that a lot of work? Did you like the end-result?

Do you think you will do it in the future?

Makes sense, I own a lot of wooden items and that can be painted. Naturally I wouldn't paint a fabric (or leather) sofa, I suspect that would turn out pretty awful.

What colour is it? Does it cost a lot to fix it?

I really like old furniture, it often lasts longer than new ones because the materials they used are in general of superior quality compared to (at least cheap stores like IKEA) furniture nowadays. But it depends, of course, there are furniture I'd prefer buying new.
