FT: Customer Service
Private

Sometimes you have great experiences with them, and other times they disappoint to a degree that leaves you utterly speechless.
Perhaps you have worked in customer service?
Some customers are allegedly horrible, while others are adequate. Perhaps you are a horrible customer, do you think so?

A few questions to get the thread started:
When did you last talk with customer service?
What is your best experience with it?
And the worst?
Have you worked in customer service?
If so, what is your worst experience and what is your best?

I'm here using customer service to cover both service and support, as they largely overlap from my understanding of the words.

Yesterday I asked about an issue relating to my headset (which was rather pricey, and is no older than 10 months).. Something is loose and I've tried to fix it myself. Anyway, as it's annoying and certainly not how it is supposed to be, I went to ask them in hope they would fix it.

Did they fix it? Absolutely not, now it's significantly worse than it was. His lazy ass solution to the problem was being like "is the entire thing loose?" while proceeding to loosen the entire thing completely, so instead of 30% of it being fucked, 100% of it is fucked. And he was like "yeah just tuck it in" spoiler: it doesn't work to tuck it in, it is supposed to be glued. He claimed it isn't supposed to be glued, but had he lifted the shit instead of worsening the issue he would have seen that it is supposed to be glued. The very fact that he has ruined it more is that the entire thing on the right ear is loosening and it's rather uncomfortable and it's not possible to fix.

I'm not going to complain here again, I do not tolerate that kind of lazy half-assed incompetence. So, when I go back to my hometown I'll complain there and mention what happened here because I am not pleased.

I worked in The national's Postal Office customer's service, in the EMS packages department,
and for the first time in my life, I was actually SUPER good with people and got some great praises, I somehow for the first time in my life was able to resolve problems for some really awful people and it was a really nice experience, also great co-workers, so accepting and welcoming, we actually got to go out together, the EMS department.

But my boss was an utter bitch and she hated that I was trying too hard to help costumers (which was absurd for me because that is the description of THE JOB.)
Because there's awful delay all the time with receiving packages people are so rude on the phone but I got fired at the end of July so all is good.

If I'm talking about me as a customer... I usually am a really chill one that'll try to understand, but when I get some horrible service I won't stay quiet.

The worst service that I got? I ordered lenses that arrived after 4 months that I've ordered them when they promised a max of 1 month.
also ordered 6 and got only 3, but they did send me the remaining 3, and I got the money back so they did give me compensation, but I had to send them messages all the time to get there, otherwise, they wouldn't do anything.

The best service that I got?
I ordered a cute set of clothing from Amazon and picked the fastest shipping, on the final review page it said that it'll arrive in 5 to 7 days,
but on the view tracking of package, it added a week to that and said that I'll get the package between 10 to 14 days.
Then I messaged them in that support chat, and after 5 minutes of ending that chat an agent from Germany called me to resolve everything, I got the package in 5 days AND got compensated for the shipping error, which was weird but a nice experience.

Conclusion? Listen to reviews about the site you're about to order from,
if you can, order from Amazon DE,
AND NEVER SEND PACKAGES BY EMS (the receiver will have to pay to get it, and it's never really on time.

Some people are unbelievable. I've never worked in .. anything honestly (I did do some like .. slavery in a student café but students aren't really entitled or anything so they were all nice).
My sister is currently working as a cook at a hotel right, and since they work so the guests can see them and talk to them, jesus christ people are incredible. The wildest story she has told me was when a guest demanded to get something that wasn't on the menu, and she was like okay I'll try, and then the guest proceeded to complain to her because it wasn't done right. She did what she had with the ingredients they had.. It's incredible.. I can't believe how rude some people are.

I've started to reach an age and degree of greediness that like.. if I'm not happy with things I'll tell them. This summer I spent hours and hours going back and forth so they could actually fix my computer. I've complained about shoes and backpacks that have broken wayy too early given their price range. Sure if you buy like h&m shit you expect it to break easily but bruhhh expensive shit should last more than 4 seconds

One of the reasons yes.
because there's such a big delay in our country because we have like 2 million + packages incoming in 3 months then we can't really deal with it, and for some reason, they hate my type around places like this I assume.

It's the best way too describe it really, but it's volunteering that's the right word lmao.

I was very  about asking someone working in a store in Helsinki about help on my sister's behalf because she doesn't do that. I just asked them like "do you have these in a different size" and they didn't so it was like oh okay bye then : (
