Today I was thinking we could have a little chat about musical instruments!

I personally have always been very fond of listening to music as well as playing instruments myself and expressing myself throughout music. I love attaining more & more skills musically and I like how accomplished I feel once I'm finally able to pull a song off.
Playing & practicing music is just overall great for mind & soul. But one thing not everyone may know is the fact that practicing music is extremely healthy for the brain! Playing a musical instrument is basically the brain equivalent of doing a full-body workout. Playing an instrument puts almost all parts of the brain to work & can strengthen memory power as both sides of the brain are active when on music-duty!

As some may have seen me write in other places here on VP, I recently (ish) purchased a kalimba! I am so very much in love with the sound of it & how much at ease I am when playing. I love that the instrument itself sounds so amazing, cause I don't feel myself producing a lot of "beginners noise" - making practicing & playing more .. enjoyable to me.
To kick off the conversation I've got some questions for all of you:
- Do yo play any instruments yourself?
If yes: What do you play & for how long have you played? Have you been classically trained or are you self-taught?
If no: Do you want to learn an instrument eventually, or are you perhaps just not interested?
- Do you have a favorite instrument?
- Is there a particular instrument you would want & don't have yet?
I hope you will join this little chat ♡
