i miss getting gifts but in the last like. 10 years ive just gotten money as a present which i mean. is nice BUT also i love getting gifts no matter what they are 😔 just doesnt feel the same when u buy them for urself
honestly yea july birthdays were always so sad since everyones away on vacation..  i held multiple birthdays in like. august as a kid bcs half of my friends were away

lmao true man gift recieving used to be something else for sure lmao for my 18th birthday my mom gave me a guitar which was like ... amazing n then christmas.. I got a frying pan .... the decline was real,, but yes also w money lmao I always get like .. giftcards for the same 2 places rofl n yeah as u say ofc it's still very much super appreciated but yes not exactly the same
n rightT bhh,, was never possible to get a large group of people together on the actual date I don't actually think I ever had a big birthday party w like many other kids cause I well didn't have the most friends either n most of the ones I had were the kids whose families couldn't afford to travel either so I was always like 'well do I wanna wait a month n have a bunch of other kids there or do I wanna do it on my b-day n have less but actual friends there' sorta thing u feel me lmao ,.,.

horrible...... thankfully, since moving to england i've had a ''''summer'''' bithday aka my birthday is before we start school again so i can just stay at home that day
except for when i started, cause i started uni on my birthday and no one knew, which was nice. and now every time i see like my confirmation of studies or something it's like born: (date) start: (same date) which is kinda funny
