Hello people of VP!

Do you enjoy watching documentaries?
If yes, what kind? Do you like them re-enacted and dramatic or dry and fact-only?
Seen any good docs lately?

Let's discuss!

behind the curve is my favorite documentary
good old avara luonto always works, like seriously they are such a roller coaster of emotions sometimes with their stories and they are well made and interesting
i just watched have a nice trip from netflix too, i liked it very much actually because it wasn't what i expected and it was realistic like just people telling their actual experiences with psychedelics

Oh Levana made this exact ft thread for me last year too, i just started watching again, so that was timing.

I prefer documentaries, over films any day and it is the main thing i watch. I watch biographies, true-crime, environmental, documentaries on society, on space, architecture, engineering and travel. The only ones i don't really dive into is history and animals, despite the fact that i like history, they tend to make history documentaries really dull. I don't care much if it's just fact, I don't mind reenactments, if it's not all the do in the documentary.

I watched seaspiracy the other day and honestly, that one really hit. You shouldn't take all the facts as true, but i still think it's worth a watch. I also suggest chasing corals if you like that one.

I do like documentaries but when it comes to heavy topics such a suicide or mental health in general I get super emotional (as always)
I think I prefer reality tv over documentaries tho
Although, I like to watch true crime documentaries when I’m not feeling anxious they’re the best aaaah
This made no sense whatsoever but the conclusion is: documentaries are ok sometimes but not my fave 👍

It was a bit of an eye opener too, i think alot of people is not really informed about it what so ever.
I can't find it anymore, it's been some time and the one i remember watching was Dream Big: Engineering Our World.
I'm on a hunt to add non true crime documentaries to my list, because they probably fill at least half on my list.
