As you can see, Jenny's Wedding only got one star from me and I would have given 0 if that was possible. 

It's obviously a movie made for straight people, the dialog is super cringy, it's mostly about the homophobic parents and Katherine Heigl and the actress playing her gf have zero chemistry. 

Kissing Jessica Stein follows a similar path but it's even less gay and full of harmful tropes.

The call me by your name movie does the questionable but realistic pretty okay but the book not so much imo hshshshs so I don’t think the offense is entirely unfounded,,, also the book just has weird pacing, so movie better overall,,,, it makes me wanna go be gay in the Italian country side so bad >:’(

i haven't read the book!! i've only seen the movie and idk the questionable only makes it better imo because that's how life goes for a lot of teens & it's not inherently bad & every relationship is different and all that. in some cases it can def be bad but in cmbyn i think it's done really well

Yeah I enjoyed the movie for what it was, I don’t think every depicted relationship in media has to be hashtag unproblematic or whatever. The book just feels very iffy because it’s very like,,. Straight author romentasizes low key predatory relationship and gets lots of praise for it,,, like in the movie you don’t really get Elio fantasizing about getting low key SAd in the same way shshshshfjsk
