Hi guys!
I thought we’d touch on a few subjects and fill you in on what has been happening these past few weeks. I’d first like to clear the air on what happened with the "hacker" situation.
Here is something I shared with the SMT first yesterday:
A few days ago we noticed some suspicious activity in the player logs and someone was being linked repeatedly to the accounts the leaker would create. That player was Ali,
I’m sure you noticed a few days ago that she said she was “quitting” vp but this was the real reason. When we confronted her she owned up to what she had done and confessed she was the person who has been leaking information. She also informed us that she wasn’t the only one who was leaking information. We aren’t sure who the other half is, or if there are more but I thought we’d update you all on the situation since it has gone quiet for awhile. We stalled for awhile waiting to see if anyone would pop up trying to copy what she had done but nothing happened so she received her official ban from vp. Because of the fact that she told us others were involved this is why she only just received her ban yesterday. I know it will come as a shock since a moderator turned out to be the one who leaked the information, it shocked us all.
This situation has also contributed to the mod set being sold to random people even if we, as a team, have agreed to not sell the set. This outfit was a gift and was seen as a second betrayal to our trust.
I hope you can still continue to trust the rest of the moderator team and the new ones that will be picked, hopefully we wont be blindsided again and this won’t happen. Kim has already been informed of the situation by the current mods. Even though we are very upset too, we ask that you not make public threads bashing her since she is no longer able to defend herself. Due to the ban this person got upset and decided to send screenshots and created rumors about what is happening behind the scenes.
I also would like to touch on how Ali leaked that the mods had a part of picking the new Admin. Yes, all mods got a chance to vote in a poll and add a few comments on why they voted that way. Although Kim informed us that she was just going to look at this but Kim and Kaj would make the final decision no matter what we say. She also informed us that we couldn’t say anything bad about the candidates because people change and everyone has done or said some bad things. I also think it is our right of opinion to say what we think and who we would like to work with. We in no way, “hate” any candidate or have it out for them. Kim and Kaj have their own opinions and they could have picked any admin candidate and we would have accepted it. I know Jess has great communication with Kim and they are friends so that made it a good choice for Kim to work with her. I feel as if everyone should have accepted the candidate Kim picked, instead of trying to pin it on the mods and thinking they persuaded her to do this. She and Kaj can make their own decisions.
