Blogger Team, and SMT have held applications already this year, so I suggest practicing for the other teams who haven't held applications this year that have a layouter position if that's what you're aiming for. (Which I think is NT, and ET?? Correct me if I'm wrong lol) I don't really know if age matters or not so, good luck practicing(:

You will find out if you will have the energy and the time to be able to work in a team. But if you're involved in the team, then you will probably come in sometime.

I don't know you, but when I look at your profile, you really make nice layout. So you'll probably bet on joining the theams that wants layouters like NT, ET, SMT and BT.

i'm gonna try to practice my layouting skills in blogs so i can apply for either NT or ET because SMT and BT have already had their applications.

also, that raises another question. what about if you live in a different country like australia? will my time zone affect my chances in getting in a team?

I would tbh say that you should go for whatever interests you the most!! Because you have to spend quite some time on your team and if you don't have much interest for it it will just be boring and hard for you. I used to be in a team myself and it kinda drained me out, so I dropped out.

Not really, teams plan things over weeks at a time and even sometimes use other platforms, such as Kik, to stay in touch (so you have more of a chance to talk to them whilst they aren't on VP but are awake).

Plus, a lot of teams look to get people from different timezones to help out with different events or offer different perspectives on a planned event

You may miss the main bulk of the planning but that can happen with any team really. Say there's a team with a lot of American/Canadians with one European or vice versa.
Even if you miss the bulk of planning, you're always free to add your two cents whenever you wake up :3

A lot of teams will wait to hear everyone's opinion. The only time you'll be fully missed from something is say it's a time sensitive issue but those are very very rare and it's not something team members like to do often <3
