Already being on a team doesn't necessarily make you better at being in another team. Idk, but I have a feeling that users who already have a badge might automatically get judged as being better than others, which gives already badged users an advantage. Also, I just think it's better for the organisation and management to spread out the work among more people, so as to minimise stress and inefficiency.
it does make you a better and more experienced team member in general!! and you know how to delegate tasks, make a schedule, cooperate, know how to collaborate with other teams and request designs +++ a lot of the tasks you need to be in a team are needed in ALL teams. so i would say you definitely have an advantage if you have been or already are a member of another team, regardless of which.

i don't mind ppl being in a lot of teams, what i do want is a stricter system that for example, uses a 3-strike method. if ppl are consistently inactive they should just be removed, not sit there for 3 months. add new members, and keep the team active.
i know social media team has a 3-strike rule, and i'm sure a lot of the teams have similar rules as well :--) it's just. things are not that black and white and stuff happen in real life that can affect your work on your team.
well every team has that, but the key of being a good team is that it should not affect your workflow.
true, but unfortunately life is not always that simple. and we must allow some slack, even if it's gonna look bad from the outside for those who do not know the full story.

it's rlly sad seeing NT was inactive for such a long time, and i hope bc of the new members they will become active again.
I think I saw somewhere that NT were taking a break over the summer. Not sure how long their inactivity can be credited to that

those are basic life skills you should have acquired outside of vp, if you can't do that on one team, you won't be able to do it on another. and not all team members are good team workers, the inactivity shows that.

i'm not saying a badged member is more qualified, i'm just explaining that experience is positive and that may be a reason why some prefer "hiring" already badged members.

But that's basically the point I'm trying to make. Because of this, the teams are more willing to hire already badged members, thus not letting unbadged users get a chance.

agree to disagree then. i think real life comes first, and i think you're allowed to be a team member while still living your life irl. and of course real life incidents will affect your workflow, that's just .....human. but ok i'm gonna stop this discussion here because i have a biology test tomorrow that i find very important.

we agree then !! and it's a shame, but it's also....logical.

like don't take this personal pat and sarah but shouldn't it be a priority working for the teams you already are on, struggling with inactivity instead of applying for a new team.. ? @warfstache @Photosynthesis
If someone is better suited for the job, then so be it, they are more than welcome to be on the team. If someone with more than one badge is suited for the team as well, what's the issue with having them on the team? I've done more than my fair share of work for every team I'm on. Don't tell me how to run a team when you don't know what goes on behind the scenes. Yes NT hasn't been active lately, but that's not just my fault. I've already kicked people off NT for not being active, hence why we had these applications. I don't look at how many teams you're on, I look at the work you've done. It doesn't mean shit if you are on 5 different teams but can't write a sentence.

It's not going to stop me from applying. I know when I can't handle the work and I'm not afraid to step down when need be.
