Official Website Redesign Requests
MsSuicideSheep
Karaoke Star

Everything you see in the screenshot so far is just an initial draft from me. Feel free to use this channel to share your ideas, suggestions, and feedback!

One small note, though: I’d really appreciate it if we could keep everything constructive and friendly here. I’m doing all of this completely voluntarily, alongside my (often very stressful 💀)full-time job, just like the other Core members. In other words, it takes a lot of my time and effort, but I’m not getting paid for it. 💸
I’m genuinely very happy to hear your input, but I also want to emphasize that it’s incredibly difficult to accommodate everyone’s personal taste or implement every single idea, especially since all of this takes a lot of time and work. That said, we’ll all do our very best to create something that works well for everyone. ❤️

And one last thing: the colors and designs you’re seeing are all just mockups for now, and nothing is final. So please feel free to share what you like, what you think could work better, or things you’d like us to experiment with. I’m always happy to hear your thoughts!

Let’s make something great together. ✨

Genuinely I don’t want to be mean or negative but the sneakiest that was posted looks like a spam ad website n I’m so sad I haven’t had the time to finish my graphic design suggestion sheet in time for this , not in the sense that my suggestions would be better just that like… I don’t want an update to be a downgrade n rn it looks like it 😭

My suggestion is to at least make the purple that virtual popstar was written in n used in some of the icons stuff into a purple that doesn’t hurt peoples eyes

Also somewhat personal preference but I kind of love the lack of corner rounding in a lot of VPs elementen it’s sorta disappointing to see everything blobified
Do yoi have the link to the sneak peek?

Hm, I'm sorry to say but not a fan. It looks outdated in a 2010s way and I'm not a fan of how rounded the corners are and the fonts.

Yes once you mentioned working with it I sorta figured it was a draft sort of thing. I have a tendency to come off a bit harsh so sorry in advance if I do! I have a lot of thoughts written down and sketched out in various places on my different computers so I’m looking forward to sharing it with you as soon as I’m not swamped with studying 💚

honestly yeah i agree i dont really see a point in full redesign  whats the point of making the site look like a phone app if theres no app in works either... vp rn looks a little rustic yeah but it doesnt look bad and theres a certain charm to it, if anything making it more 2016sque makes more sense

the main issues with vp on mobile is stuff like being unable to click quote without accidentally becoming the thread superfan by following it instead and the fact that making outfits is another layer of hell never seen before, those things cud be worked on instead of like    redesigning the entire thing

App is not in the works rn mainly because you just can't turn current vp into an app without mobile friendly and (most importantly) modern redesign (I mean not just the visual update), so once we're done with it I'll think about porting it to android ios too

Also, take for example the wardrobe - rn it's a terribly rigid container fully packed with unresponsive clothes boxes where you can't change anything in the wd system (no matter how small it is) without rewriting the whole design almost from scratch,
But it's also pointless to redesign it without the deep rework, so that's what actually happens on most of redesigned pages. (So, you know, wardrobe revamp is linked with the redesign, same goes for clothing uploader and other complex pages)

New header and pretty much everything you see on the new design is updating in realtime, we already have new clothing tooltip system (there's tooltip cache for instant display and it's not causing big wd pages to lag like current tooltips) and going from page to page is faster on new design

And uhh working with terrible legacy design like ours is making me want to kill ppl, so I'm doing this for my mental health too haha

I hear your concerns but this is very very early on.
This is not finalized. And some support would be nice.

In order to receive things like Wardrobe update, the ui has to be updated
This is not the place to voice tour concerns. This is to offer constructive criticism and request features or visuals.

But can't you keep the look/ what users see the same or very simar with small improvements like a mobile version without changing the whole thing since many vp users (me included) actually like/ prefer the old skool look?

my problem isnt with the fact that theres no app for vp (nor do i think we need one) but with the fact that it looks like but that it looks corporate clean which does not fit the aesthetics of the site

i understand that you cannot tweak stuff with the way it currently is made but is just remaking the entire thing to look similar to what we have now not an option

This is not finalized design. It is just a draft, dont worry there is a lot more coming we just dont have assets like backgrounds or color pallets finalized

If a majority of the site wants the ui etc to be updated to be more functional but keep a similar visual design that’s important to keep in mind though, no?

Yes, however all showing up at one time and all having overwhelmingly negative comments such as "why do we need it," "I dont want it" "is she even qualified" is a pretty horrific welcome to a volunteer worker
