tbh what would make the most sense is to merge all servers and create a global one to save server costs atp bcs the only people who run this site rn are volunteers. One thing that bothers me about vp managment is that if you want more people to join, the first thing that has to be done is advertising in a way that invites people to check out the site. It doesnt make sense to run social media events if its just for the people on the server anyway ppl who know nothing about this website wont know what to do with it. The only way i can see social media work is with tiktok and following trends like memes or cater to a certain audience (dress up girlies). People are attracted to nostalgia and customizable pages. Pretty sure if vp got its code renewed and an updated appearance this site would see more engagement again even asking for help from volunteers who knows there might be people out there who can help out a bit for free. But all of this has to come from the person who runs this site i think it would motivate people more if he actually communicated with us. I mean there is a lot more issues with this site esp how hard it is for newbies to get anything here but yea

erman server currently allegedly generates more money than english one so they won't shut it down that easily.
i have spoken with etjen before though it has been a while. he said back then that he doesn't want to be too involved with the site but let the other admins run things (because the other admins were once normal users like me and you for example, they know what's best for the site allegedly) while he remains as the bank of sorts + obviously one who decides if the site's plug is pulled or not since it is his company.
i hard agree on social media stuff. @ smt we have been experimenting with tiktok and pinterest but it's only been a few-ish months since we launched them so we don't know the full impact yet. we take any suggestions on how to gain attention, though i personally am more than aware that advertising vp is a bit ehhh considering the state the site is in currently :') doesn't mean we're gonna stop trying though. if we get one or two users joining the site and possibly buying mcm then it's already a minor victory - even though the money currently goes to keeping the servers up and not improving the site's features
we barely covered the server cost last time our user base gets lower and lower on the ger server unfortunately. Tbh you can only advertise if there is anything to advertise but currently this website is extremely outdated there is barely anything to do besides talking to people but even then its super hard to get into already esablished friendship groups. The site would be so much better if it was more of a blog rather than a forum site i think? Like costumizing your page like on tumblr, posting stuff that interests you, write about stuff etc. i dont even think its that big of a programming task but it will def involve some time and A LOT of communication with the user base. I would even help with redesigning the page if needed (like i said asking for volunteers etc) If more people would join and stay here like on everskies, people could even start getting paid a little for their work which would def make people more motivated to design or run teamer events. One of the biggest issues is that the servers are currently not really new player friendly. It favors people who have played it for a long time, this is one of the first aspects that has to change imo. Make it easier to get sets and have certain events or games for limited stuff
